Correction: DPS informs us that the age of the deceased girl is 16 not 14 as was originally reported.

Texas DPS is investigating a weekend accident that claimed the life of a 16 year-old girl.

DPS Communications officer Dan Buesing says the girl, from Rowlett, was riding in a Polaris ATV along Highway 82 about a mile west of Nocona when they were struck from behind by a pickup driven by Charles Beakley of Collinsvile.

All three girls were transported to Nocona Hospital with serious injuries. The 16 year-old was pronounced dead on arrival. The other two teens were airlifted to Cook’s Fort Worth Children’s Hospital. Their exact condition is unknown. The identity of the girls has not been released.
