SCAM ALERT: Mystery Shopper Checks By Mail

Wichita Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Jeff Hughes says that recently, the WFPD has seen an increase in "Mystery Shopper" scams where victims are losing large amounts of money.

The victims are receiving large "Mystery Shopper" checks (usually over $1000) in the mail and cashing them only to be told later by their banks that the checks were no good and they have to pay the money back
