Perhaps the word bizarre doesn't quite describe it.

The show is called 'Sex Box'.  According to Entertainment Weekly, the hit British reality series will see it's American version launched early next year.

Here's the concept: couples having issues will go into a 'camera-free, sound proofed box' and have sex.  Then, they'll emerge and will sit down with a panel of 'experts' to discuss their issues.  The program will feature straight couples, gay couples and God only knows what else.

The program will air in the U.S. on WE T.V.  E.W. reports that network president Mark Juris stated:

Our featured couples will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while our viewers will get the kind of bold, break-through-the-clutter programming they increasingly associate with WE tv.

One can assume the American version may not be quite as racy as the British version.  Some language is still considered off-limits on American television outside of the so-called 'safe harbor' hours of 10pm to 6am.  I don't see WE TV relegating this show to midnight, so they'll likely reign it in a bit  or bleep it considerably.

While you might be able to find some redeeming qualities in a program like this, you have to ask yourself some questions: Does this really need to be on television?  Is this going too far?  Has television finally fallen to the bottom of the sewer?  Trust me, this is not a program any adult should feel comfortable watching with their child, regardless of the child's age.

Is America is still too rooted in our Christian/Puritan beginnings, too prudish when it comes to such topics?  No, we've strayed a long, long way from those beginnings.  Have you watched any television in the last decade?  Not much is off-limits anymore.  Does every topic have to be turned into a reality show?  This isn't entertainment; it's pandering to the most base elements of our society, a seedy curiosity.  Therapy?  Not so much.  Frankly, it's borderline soft core pornography.

No, this isn't bizarre.  It's creepy.  Very, very creepy.  You may feel the need to bathe after seeing this.

Here's an episode of the British version.  Be warned!  The language and topics are frank and no-holds-barred.  This is very, very much NSFWDo not watch this with  children around.  I cannot stress enough - NSFW.  But if you just have to see what you're in for, well, here ya go.
