Downtown Wichita Falls Development and the Elks Lodge #1105 are bringing Cajun Fest back to the Falls! The event will take place on May 10 and features music, dancing, food, kid’s activities, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. The festival starts at noon and will last until it gets shut down.

Bands featured are the Acadien Cajun Band, T-Broussard & the Zydeco Steppers, and Shinyribs. Gator Country, known for their popular CMT show ‘Gator 911,’ will also be there for a hands-on gator show. A children’s area will provide a host of activities from crafts to magicians to carnival rides.

But really, we know you’re waiting to hear about the food!

There will be plenty of Cajun food to feast on, including boiled crawfish, Cajun fried catfish, crawfish etouffee, and jambalaya. Food prices are between $2-$5, so you can eat a lot of food without breaking the bank. If you think you have skills making gumbo, you can participate in a cook-off and win the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Get your tickets early! Advance tickets are $5 and may be purchased at all United Supermarkets, United Market Street, SAFB ITT Office, Iron Horse Pub, the Elks Lodge, and DWFD Office. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate for $10, and kids under 12 get in free when accompanied by an adult.
