Cause Determined for Car Accident That Killed Two Texoma Teens
The cause of a fatal car accident that occured on Kell West just after 5pm on Friday (1/4) killing two Archer City teens has been determined.
Wichita Falls Police Information Officer Sergeant John Spragins says that the several-car collision was caused by a lead vehicle slowing down on the freeway causing other vehicles behind to wreck.
The two teens who died, 17-year-old Shon Blair and 18-year-old Dalton Schwartz-Maxwell were both in a Chevy Aveo. 17-year-old Billy Bob Skaggs, also in the Aveo, and 30-year-old Tiffanie Gonzales, in a separate vehicle, were also seriously injured.
While the setting sun was in fact glaring down the westbound lanes of Kell, Sergeant Spragins says that glare will not be listed as a factor in the crash report.
A benefit account to help the Schwartz-Maxwell family with funeral expenses has been set up at American National Bank under the name Heather Jolyn Maxwell.
