HOUSTON (AP) — Demonstrators gathered at two separate rallies in Houston on Saturday to express their support and opposition to possible U.S. air strikes on Syria.

In addition to Houston, rallies were held in Boston and other cities around the world on Saturday.

U.N. inspectors left Syria this weekend after a four-day investigation in the area where the U.S. State Department says over 1,400 Syrians were recently killed in a chemical attack by the ruling regime.

President Barack Obama says that any possible attack would be limited and aimed at punishing Syrian President Bashar Assad for his alleged use of chemical weapons. Obama also said this weekend that he would seek a Congressional resolution before ordering military action. Obama's remarks on Saturday came after the British Parliament rejected a resolution to authorize military action on Thursday.
