Merry Christmas from the EPA!  Well, that is if they are allowed to say that.  Probably can’t.  Might offend someone.  But you’ll love this!  There are those in the EPA who have big plans for 2012 and beyond.  A Fox News article published this week states that:

“The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency wants to change how it analyzes problems and makes decisions, in a way that will give it vastly expanded power to regulate businesses, communities and ecosystems in the name of “sustainable development,  the centerpiece of a global United Nations conference slated for Rio de Janeiro next June.”

That’s great, more regulation!  Yep, that’s the ticket.  Let’s do even MORE to drive industry out of our nation and make ourselves even more dependent on third-world, communist, backwards countries that have no true concept of liberty.  Oh, wait a minute!  Silly me!  WE HAVE NO CONCEPT OF LIBERTY ANYMORE, DO WE!?  We’ve become a nation of pansies.  We roll over and continue to sleep while these government-sanctioned enviro-Nazi’s run roughshod over our very livelihood.  Some of us do.  Glad to be in the other group, I am.   Pretty soon, you won’t be able to have a backyard bar-b-que.  Enviro-Nazi’s in California have already successfully pushed for bans on wood and charcoal smokers in some areas and this ban is coming to a backyard or public park near you!  But that, my friends, is merely the tip of the poor, melting iceberg.

So, as you sit in the drive-thru at your favorite fast food joint, pondering why your boyfriend or girlfriend hasn’t sent you a text in the last five minutes, consider this: there are people in an agency right now who are crafting policies that will fundamentally change what you can wear, eat, drink, smoke; the ‘green’ movement that so many have embraced is about to bite you on the butt.  Well, it really already has.  The EPA has done more to drive industry out of our nation than any other policy-making body.  While some of their ideology seems quite common sense (don’t pollute our rivers with chemicals that will kill people) some of their rules are beyond ridiculous.  One such rule treats spilled milk as a toxic substance.  Why?  Because raw milk contains about 4% butter fat, basically a type of oil.  Albeit about as organic and natural as it comes, that ‘oil’ is, under their guidelines, still a toxin.  The dairy industry has had to go to court to battle for exemptions from this kind of stupidity.  And some day, it’s likely you will have to do the same just to have a cookout, use your fireplace, or even do something as benign as watering your garden.  When will you finally wake up and demand this group of nutcases be reined in?

But wait, you say!  We cannot tear down the EPA!  Who'll protect little Johnny and little Mary from the evil-doers?  Who will make sure the water is safe to drink, the air safe to breathe?  You know, I hate to admit it, but the EPA has cleaned up a few bad situations for us.  BUT, the problem is, these agencies rarely ever stop at good enough.  As the old saying goes, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  There are those both inside and outside of government who want to have that absolute power.  The longer you sit back and remain silent and uninformed, the closer they come to that very kind of power.  Don't believe that non-sense about 'you can't fight city hall'.  Fight 'em or you may wish that you had.  There's no harm or foul in protecting that which the Good Lord has blessed us.  But everything must be tempered with common sense.  And these environmental head cases seem to have absolutely none.
