Additional Information

The trees in our area are suffering from the drought, but there are a few things you can do to help them out. The Wichita Falls City Parks Department has teamed up with the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service and River Bend Nature Center to bring the public a free seminar called “Saving Our Trees.”

In a press release, David Graf, AgriLife Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for Wichita County stated:

"The drought continues to negatively impact our trees, and the AgriLife Horticulture Committee felt some education was essential to help people learn what they can do to save our trees. It takes years to replace trees, and anything we can do to save them is a huge benefit."

Several speakers will be on hand, talking about topics such as tips to save trees, issues like insects, disease, and pruning, and how to stretch soil moisture. There will also be a question and answer session with the panel after the presentations.
