It wasn’t so long ago that all you could do on a cell phone is make or receive calls.

Now these amazing mini-computers will tell you where you are, where you need to go, and provide you a movie to watch while you get there. Spouses, on the other hand, more or less have the same abilities as they’ve always had.

The phone insurance company Asurian asked 3,000 adults whether they find their significant other or their cell phone more helpful. Seventy percent of the respondents answered that their partner was more helpful, whereas 30 percent gave the nod to the machine — which probably means we are about two years away from cell phones being officially more helpful than spouses.
