Boxers talking trash before an upcoming fight isn't exactly news. But we have to admit, we dig the latest jab (heh) from Manny Pacquiao regarding his May 2 fight with Floyd Mayweather. Some might call it sexist (maybe just old-fashioned, if we're being generous) to use the whole "a girl could beat you up" line as a way to demean your opponent, but when that girl happens to be unbeaten MMA champ Ronda Rousey? That's probably just realistic.

On Wednesday's His & Hers show, Pacquiao was asked about Rousey's recent assertion that she could defeat Mayweather in an MMA fight. Pac-man's response?

"I believe so," he said. "She’s strong. She’s strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA.”

Rousey is openly rooting for Pacquiao, joking that she needed some helping affording tickets to what many are calling the biggest fight of all time (financially, at least). Rousey is a favorite around here, for multiple reasons, and we like that Pac-Man is employing her in his pre-fight ritual. Hell, she should escort him to the ring.

Floyd doesn't exactly have the best record when it comes to women, so this could really bring the crowd over to Pacquiao's side. They may already be supporting him anyway, what with Mayweather in recent years starting to embrace his role as the villain of boxing -- albeit the undefeated pound-for-pound champion of the world as well, but a villain nonetheless.
