Midwestern State Mustangs Begin Postseason Play In LSC Championship
The Midwestern State Mustang basketball teams begin their postseason today and tomorrow in the Lone Star Conference Basketball Championship in Allen, Texas.
The #2 seed MSU men's team will kick things off with a contest against #7 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville. The game tips-off at 2:30pm at the Allen Event Center.
The Mustangs enter the tournament as LSC co-champions with Tarleton State, with both teams posting identical 12-2 records in conference play. MSU has defeated the Javelinas twice this season by an average of 22 points per game.
The women's team secured the #4 seed in the tournament and will play the Angelo State Rambelles on Thursday at 6pm I the Allen Event Center.
The Mustang women, led by head coach Noel Johnson, look to defend their tournament title from a year ago where they won the championship in dramatic fashion, defeating West Texas A&M in overtime 85-83 on a last second jumper by guard Diana Jones.
