The City of Wichita Falls has named a new City Clerk.

Mayor Glenn Barham and members of the City Council announced Tuesday (July 16) that Tracy Norr has been selected as the new City Clerk for the City of Wichita Falls.

The City Clerk is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the City Council, overseeing records management, managing City elections, and coordinating the City’s Boards and Commissions. The position was opened with the retirement of Lydia Ozuna on June 28, 2013.

Ms. Norr is coming to Wichita Falls from Draper, Utah, where she has spent the last 5 years as City Recorder (another term for City Clerk) for the City of Draper. Prior to her service in Draper, she spent 2 years in Fillmore, Utah as City Recorder and 14 years as City Secretary for the Town of Pantego, Texas.

“I look forward to working in Wichita Falls. I was given a warm welcome during the interview process and I am excited to work with the Mayor, Council, and staff on a daily basis,” said Wichita Falls City Clerk, Tracy Norr. “Wichita Falls offers excellent opportunities and will be a great place to call home,” Norr added.

Ms. Norr holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s Degree in Office Administration from Utah State University. She has also received a designation as Master Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She will begin her new position, August 12, 2013.
