The Midwestern State men's basketball team headed into the Thanksgiving break giving thanks for a late game 10-0 run to close out the Oklahoma City University Stars on Monday night, 72-61.

The Mustangs (5-0) had four players score in double-digits, including forward Eddie D'Haiti who was a perfect 6-6 from the field. Former Burkburnett Bulldog Derrell Gibbs added game-highs 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

MSU head coach Nelson Haggerty called a timeout with 7:50 to play and the Mustangs clinging to a 53-50 lead before MSU went on the 10-0 run that sealed the win.

"I just told them (players) not to panic. OCU had gotten some loose balls and made a run but we just needed to slow it down. We did that and got settled down and made two defensive stops that helped our run," said Haggerty.

The Mustangs return to action this Friday against Harding (Ark.) in the Arkansas Tech Thanksgiving Classic in Russellville, Ark. The tip-off is slated for 4pm. You can follow the Mustangs at msumustangs.com
