A marketing company in Waco, Texas, has created an unusual new type of decal, and it's causing quite a controversy.

The design makes it appear as though a woman is tied up and being kept in the bed of a pickup truck, an image created by Hornet Signs, which builds custom decals for vehicles. Hornet's owner, Brad Kolb, said that the woman in the picture is an employee and that the truck it's on belongs to another employee. Kolb is testing the image, to see just how realistic people find it.

"I wasn't expecting the reactions we got, nor do we condone this by any means,” Kolb said. “It was more or less something we put out there to see who noticed it."

KWTX News 10 put the image up on their Facebook page and asked people what they thought of the decal. The responses skewed heavily negative. "It sends a horrible message!" read one popular comment. "People shouldn't have to worry about their children seeing something like this just while driving around! That is sick and twisted."

Kolb says decal orders have gone up since the image was first tested about a month ago. "It was an experiment for us, and something that was only for short-term, and I was really shocked at how much traffic that it did drive," Kolb said.
