In a story that seems copied directly from the pages of a comic book, a French super criminal escaped from jail on Saturday by using arms and explosives to blast his way out of incarceration. Infamous criminal Redoine Faid escaped from Lille-Sequedin penitentiary northern France by holding four guards at gunpoint, before using explosives to blast through five doors separating him from the outside world. Authorities have no leads on his whereabouts.

Once just a petty thief, Faid, became one of France's best known criminals, attacking armored vehicles, planning large heists and publishing an autobiography after serving a prior prison sentence. He was about to go to trial in the death of a 26-year-old policewoman when he escaped. Authorities theorized Faid's wife may have passed him explosives on prison visits. Faid's lawyer was not surprised that he had escaped.

"He is remarkably intelligent, and he is using his intellect to serve his ambitions," his lawyer told French media. "(And Faid) cannot stand being imprisoned anymore."

Look at that guy! He is practically the French Lex Luthor. How is he not already the subject of a TV show? Not to glorify his criminal actions, but unless the French police are all like Jacques Clouseau, watching them chase down Faid on a weekly basis has to be more entertaining than "Splash" or anything involving a Kardashian family member.
