One of my cats loves the holiday season. Before we even have the tree decorated she’ll be hanging out underneath it as though she herself is a gift. Luckily she hasn’t actually crawled up into the tree like some cats do, but we wouldn’t put her past doing it at some point. We take a bit of extra care when decorating the tree to ensure those small decorations aren’t easily pulled at, because cats love shiny things. Some cats don’t have a tree to check out during the holidays, and that’s where you come in.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.

Silas

Silas is a small, brown, male Chihuahua/short coat mix. He’s two-years-old, so he knows how to behave, but he also has a lot of energy and loves to play. He’s a little shy at first but he warms up quickly, and he’s a very loyal guy to have around the house. He’s neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Silas is a really great pet who can’t wait to find his forever home and to meet his new family. Stop by to say hi!

Friskee

Friskee is a small, orange, domestic shorthair cat. At 5-months-old, they aren’t quite sure yet if Friskee is a male or female, but that question may be answered by the time you meet this feisty little cat. Kittens have a lot of energy and love to play, but they also love a long nap and hanging out with people. This kitty is up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Friskee is really looking forward to finding a forever home and is the perfect age to start out in a new place. Swing by to introduce yourself!
