Spidey sense appears to have met a lack of common sense.

Eric Rico Ortiz, of Deltona, Florida, is terrified of spiders -- so much so that he decided to get a tattoo of a spider on his face. Ortiz, 24, says he needed to confront his arachnophobia:

Everybody fears spiders. That’s why I got it. Just to, like, make me know, that that’s what I fear, but not to fear it. You know what I’m saying?”

Um, yeah, sure. Of course, Ortiz has a rap sheet that features burglary, theft, battery and drug possession, so making wise decisions doesn't exactly seem to be in his repertoire.

His girlfriend, though, apparently wasn't onboard. She reportedly dumped him after he got the tat.

And if you're thinking, "Hey, that giant spider tattoo is going to ruin his chances of getting a CEO job with a Fortune 500 company," well, fret not. Ortiz is a thinker and he'd mulled over his employment prospects long before getting inked. He currently works as a landscaper and says, "I don’t work in a place where there are people around."

Ah, so smart, this one. With this kind of logic, what Fortune 500 company wouldn't want him?
