A four-alarm blaze broke out at the former Vetrotex/CertainTeed plant on Allendale Road shortly after 1pm this afternoon.

An individual working inside the plant placed the 9-1-1 call at 1:21pm.  19 units responded to the blaze

Firefighters have been battling a large wildfire on the Clay/Montague County line early this afternoon.  Officials say the fire started between Cray Road and Manton Road and was growing rapidly.  Heavy smoke across US 287 forced officials to close the highway to both north and southbound traffic
