Britain’s newest prince has been given a name, and it’s George Alexander Louis. The announcement comes just a day after the world was introduced to the baby, which was delivered two days ago. The child, who is third in line to the throne, will be known as “His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”

CNN Royal Contributor Victoria Arbiter has stated:

It makes sense that the couple revealed the name before the weekend. When William told reporters that he hoped the hospital and media could get back to their normal routines, the subtext was that he also wanted the fuss to die down. George is a popular guess for a first name and also a popular name choice for monarchs: There have been six previous King Georges. Philip would be in honor of Prince Philip.

What do you think of the name? Is it fitting for a future king?
