Wichita Falls Police say the victim of Saturday's hit-and-run on North Beverly Drive has died.  Sergeant John Spragins says 64-year-old Connie Merrell died Sunday afternoon at United Regional Hospital.  Merrell was riding a bicycle in the 600 block of North Beverly Drive and was struck by a silver or grey sedan at around 12 noon Saturday.  Police are continuing to search for the vehicle involved.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (940) 322-9888 or 1 800-322-9888.

Earlier today (10/4) Wichita Falls Police responded to a near-fatal hit and run accident involving a cyclist in the 600 block of North Beverly Drive.

WFPD believes the suspect vehicle is a silver or grey sedan with front end damage and possible damage to the hood and roof. The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a white female.

The bicyclist was transported to United Regional Health Care Emergency Room with suspected life threatening injuries.

The bicyclist victim has been identified, but her name is not being released at this time.

According to police, "the white female victim was believed to have shopped at the Family Dollar Store on Iowa Park Road prior to the incident. The victim was riding a purple & white bicycle with a basket on front handle bars."
