Joe Tom White was born June 2, 1939 and resides in Wichita Falls, Texas. He and his wife Judy, have been married 52 years (since June 20, 1959) and are both natives of Vernon, Texas. They have 2 daughters, Jody Ann Lyons and Jill Elaine Wilson, both graduates of Midwestern State University. They have 5 grandsons, Seth & Cole Lyons; Ben & Josh Grimm and Doug Wilson. Joe Tom graduated from Midwestern State University in 1962 with a Degree in Agriculture. He served 2 years active duty in the United States Army Signal Corps as a 1st. Lieutenant, with Honorable Discharge from Army Reserve in 1968. Joe Tom has been in Radio-TV broadcasting plus sales and marketing for over 50 years (since 1959). He was associated with Radio Station KWFT for over 26 years. He was with KGTM Radio for 1 1/2 years where he teamed up with Mike Campbell. They joined KAUZ-TV (Channel 6) in 1987 with daily programs and TV advertising for 5 years. Joe Tom & Mike currently host a daily radio talk show weekday mornings from 6 to 8am on NewsTalk AM 1290 Radio, since September of 1993....all in Wichita Falls, Texas. Joe Tom & Judy own the advertising agency of Joe Tom and Co. opened in August, 1993. They are involved in many marketing and promotion successes like the Texas/Oklahoma Fair and published The Family Sportsman Magazine for The Northwest Texas Field & Stream Association for 50 years. He serves on the Board of the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association; past Chairman of the Wichita Falls City Park Board; past Chairman of City Arts Commission; served on the advisory board of the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry Convention and Tourism Bureau; was State President of the 100,000 member Sportsmen's Clubs of Texas for 4 years (1976-1980); Past President of the Maskat Shrine Clowns; the North Texas Model-A-Ford Owners Association ; Past-Chairman of the Wichita Falls celebration of "The Great American Race"; charter-member of the Rehab Auction Committee; former Deputy Texas Game Warden and Deputy U.S. Game Warden. They are members of the Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mavericks and Senior Member of the Gold Coat Ambassadors. He has been an active member of a number of boards including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Camp Fire, Boy Scouts, Cancer Society, Wichita Falls Livestock Association, Wichita Falls Retirement Foundation, Senior Citizens of North Texas Trustee, and Business Chairman of the United Way. He is a former member of the state-wide committee of "Operation Game Thief" for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. He is the current Gun Show Coordinator for the Texas Collectors Association and Trustee of the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum.
