
Light Snowfall Possible For Southwest Oklahoma This Thursday
Another round of wintry precipitation is headed for Oklahoma this Thursday. It will come on the tail of a second cold air mass that's expected to move in Wednesday evening. It's looking like southwest Oklahoma will be the ones impacted by the next round of wintry precipitation.
Early Monday morning, portions of northern, central and northeast Oklahoma were impacted by wintry precipitation after a blast of arctic air Sunday. These areas saw near-invisible ice accumulate on bridges and elevated surfaces.
The Oklahoma High Patrol responded to over 300 accidents due to the wintry precipitation from midnight to 9 a.m. Monday.
Light snowfall is expected across southwest Oklahoma this Thursday.
Icy conditions aren't expected with the second round of wintry precipitation on Thursday, but all Oklahoma residents know that can change quickly. As of Tuesday, local meteorologists are only expecting light snowfall with the possibility of a wintry mix, particularly for those in far southern Oklahoma.
According to KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan, some areas in southwest Oklahoma may see some accumulation from the light snowfall, including Elk City, Hobart, Lawton, Altus, Chickasha and the surrounding areas.

Single-digit wind chills expected Thursday morning in Oklahoma.
Along with the chance of wintry precipitation Thursday, it will be a bitter cold morning. Oklahoma will see low temperatures in the teens and 20s Thursday morning, plus wind chills are expected to be in the lower teens and even down into the single digits.
The winds will be breezy out of the north Thursday morning at 15 to 20 miles per hour with 25 mile per hour wind gusts. The winds will make it feel even colder.
