So I was having a typical Oklahoma moment of peace and quiet at home last night, doing the normal things. TV on in the background at a low volume, lamps on for a warm cozy winter glow, scrolling through TikTok while I had a few minutes to myself when something popped up about the most fun activities in every state.

The list mostly made sense.

  • Skiing in Colorado
  • Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour in Vermont
  • Disney World in Florida
  • Eating Barbeque in Texas

But when it came to Oklahoma, it caught me a little off-guard, and I'm not sure if it's just me or pure shenanigans.

Really?

I mean no disrespect, and I'll fully admit I've never been there, but a wading pool is the most fun thing a person can experience in the entire Sooner State?

Full disclosure, if that's what you're into, by all means, I'm glad you've found your place in this state. We've always preferred the nearby Little Niagara swimming hole when we're in the area - mainly because it doesn't cost money and there are generally (we assume) fewer people jockeying for swimming space... but nobody in my household would consider it an overwhelming fun thing to do.

Once or twice? Yeah. Anytime you're in the area? Sure... but you're not planning a trip across the state just for a dip in the cool waters on a hot day.

What fun things are there to do in Oklahoma?

It's sort of personal I suppose. I really like the Bone Museum in OKC and the aquarium up in Jenks. The Coyboy Museum in OKC is second to none. My nephews love riding motorcycles and four-wheelers on the WMA trails around the NEOK reservoirs. My sisters love to hit the fancy outlet mall in OKC. Mom and Dad like to sit around and do nothing all day... so it's sort of personal to each Oklahoman I suppose.
