The sport was originated by a Russian grad student at Kansas State University named Vik Mikheev, in the United States to earn his Ph. D. in mathematics. A black belt in judo and Brazilian jiujitsu, he first came up with the idea of competitive grappling inside a vehicle in 2020.

What Are the Rules?

Starting position: Competitors start seated with their safety belts fastened.

When the match starts: Competitors unbuckle their seat belts and use any part of the car to their advantage.

Winning: A competitor wins a round by submission. If the match is tied after two rounds, a third round and possibly sudden death will determine the winner.

Points: Points may be awarded during the match, but they don't affect the outcome.
