This tweet perfectly sums up the state of sports in Texas right now.

My how the mighty have fallen. Usually, the hottest ticket on Thanksgiving weekend is the Dallas Cowboys. Many fans make the trip to AT&T Stadium for the annual Thanksgiving Day game.

Of course, supply and demand determine the market for ticket prices just like anything else. It appears that this year, the demand for tickets to the Cowboys’ game against the Giants is quite low.

I’ve been a Cowboy fan my whole life and have gone to games going back to the 90s at Texas Stadium. And I don’t recall ever seeing tickets to Cowboy games going for $28. So yeah, Dem Boyz have hit a new low.

On the flip side, the Longhorns are having a great season. And the Aggies are having a pretty damn good season themselves, with the exception of the loss to Auburn last weekend.

Combine that with the fact the two fierce rivals haven’t played in over a decade and that Saturday’s game at Kyle Field will determine who faces Georgia in the SEC Championship and the demand for those tickets is through the roof.

Tickets for that game start at a whopping $577. It’s great to have the Lone Star Showdown back, but it would be even better if my Cowboys would turn things around.
