Do you think you would be a better head coach than Mike McCarthy or DeMeco Ryans?

I love football. I’ve watched it since I was a little boy. I remember my parents’ friends being amazed by the fact that as a 6-year-old boy, I would sit and watch an entire football game.

I also played for a couple of years in middle school but quickly found that I was a much better spectator than a player. So, I have a decent knowledge of the game, but nowhere near that of a coach.

So, there’s no way on Earth that I would be a better head coach than the two leading our NFL teams here in the Lone Star State.

However, you might be surprised how many Texans think they would make a better head coach than both. Yes, there are a whole lot of delusional football fans in this state.

Don’t get me wrong – every football fan sometimes finds themselves yelling at the TV, wondering what the hell the coach was thinking when a play goes wrong. That’s just part of being a fan.

Our course, coaches are human and to err is human. But they got to where they are for a reason. It takes a lifetime of dedication to get to their position.

And watching a bunch of football on the weekends doesn’t constitute a lifetime of dedication.

So, I hate to break it to the 33% of Cowboys fans and 39% of Texans fans who thought they would make a better head coach than McCarthy or Ryans, but you couldn’t be more wrong.
