Watch Brilliant Display of Lightning Stretching Across the Texas Sky

The power of nature is on full display in this video showing lightning making its way across the Texas sky. 

I’m the type of person who gets just a tad bit excited when the skies start to darken. It’s kind of a nervous excitement in that I hope nothing bad happens, but I enjoy sitting outside and watching storms roll through. 

And out of all the storms I’ve watched over the years, I don’t recall ever seeing such a brilliant display of lightning as the one in the video below.

To be honest with you, I probably would’ve jumped out of my skin if I had. Not only does it completely fill the sky, but there’s a loud, explosive boom right in the middle of it. I assume it struck something at that moment, but it’s hard to tell.  

Growing up in Texas, I always thought the severe weather we get here is perfectly normal. But I’ve had several people from the Northeast tell me they have never experienced the type of storms we get here. 

So, it’s good that I like to watch storms (not chase them, though – that’s too scary for this guy). Otherwise, I probably would have got the hell out of Dodge a long time ago.
