Cruise the Most Pristine Street in Texas
If you go cruising, it might as well be on the cleanest street in Texas.
Cruising is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Sure, there are plenty of great organized cruises like Summer’s Last Blast in my hometown of Vernon, Texas.
But with everyone being connected via the internet, young people don’t feel the need to go out and cruise the streets and connect with friends like we did back in the day.
And to tell you the truth, my wife and I don’t go out and cruise around like we used to. For many years, we would go on Sunday afternoon rides. It was one of our favorite things to do to relax and unwind.
As I write this, I’m thinking maybe it’s time for cruising to make a comeback. You know, kind of like how vinyl records and cassettes found their way back into mainstream culture after being practically extinct for a while.
Don’t get me wrong – I love the digital age and how we are easily able to stay connected with friends and family who live far away. But I can’t help but feel nostalgic for the days when hanging out in parking lots along the main drag was the preferred method of socializing.
So, if you feel like I do and want to cruise the cleanest street in the Lone Star State, make the trip to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Researchers with Waste Removal USA surveyed 3,000 travelers to determine the country's most pristine streets. They found Main Street in Grapevine to be the cleanest in Texas.
