It's National Beer Day today, no really, it's a real holiday. Here's how you should celebrate.

What is National Beer Day?

On April 7, 1933, the Cullen-Harrison Act, also known as the Beer and Wine Revenue Act, went into effect, allowing the sale of beer and wine with a low alcohol content (3.2% by weight) as a step towards ending Prohibition. Now Prohibition would not officially end until December that year, but this Act helped pave the way for legal alcohol to come back into America.

Obviously ending Prohibition is a big part of American history. However, this date just started getting recognized by the Federal Government as an official holiday back in 2017. You're encouraged to support local breweries, taste new brews, and learn more about the art of beer-making. Obviously if you have a local brewery near you, go support it today. If you want to support some local Texas beers, these are the most popular in the state. Check out the top ten below.
