You might want to go dig your jacket out, we're not talking cartel "snow" here - El Paso may get the real thing.

El Paso doesn't see a lot of snow, in fact, on average, we get almost none. Sure, we've had a few years when we got a decent powder going and a few freak years where Old Man Winter really got it on here like the record setting winter of 1987.

According to the Farmers Almanac, even the parts of Texas that do usually see decent snowfall may see less than usual this year. El Paso is slated to be a tiny bit colder than usual and maybe wetter but our snow chances are dim.

When Will El Paso See Snow?

Except for this weekend that is. Thursday, we're looking at about a 30% chance of rain and an overnight low of around 35 degrees. That is (probably) not going to bring actual snowfall but I'll betcha' we see at least a little bit high up on the mountain Friday morning. Our first freeze is slated for later this month.

Snowbirds should know that El Paso is THE place to be for those who could live without a white winter, let alone a white Christmas. FYI, there haven't been all that many white Christmas's in El Paso throughout its history.

The last snowfall to actually happen on Christmas day itself was back in 1997. If you would like to experience a true winter, no worries, it can be found nearby.
