The New Mexico State Fair Offers The Craziest Food Ever This Year

Seriously, they're going out of their way to load the New Mexico State Fair up with the weirdest, craziest ... yet, somehow, tasty sounding ... foods ever this year.

The New Mexico State Fair starts September 5th and runs through September 15th. Right out of the gate, the fun starts with a "weird" food competition and, so far, the competition looks "tastefully" whacked out.

The New Mexico State Fair has announced the participants in this years "Unique Foods" competition - fair food taken to a whole new level. "Carny food" isn't known for its health benefits but who cares ... it's awesome.

You can get just about anything deep fried and sugar bombs, like cotton candy, are absolutely everywhere. You may have to give up all your "cheat days" for the rest of the year but it's sooo worth it.

“If you love Fair Food this is the contest for you,” said State Fair General Manager Dan Mourning in a news release. “You want wacky, crazy food, we got wacky, crazy, yet always delicious, food right here at the New Mexico State Fair and every item in this competition will be available to purchase throughout the run of the Fair.” - krqe

Entrants this year include deep fried carne asada tacos and Belgian waffle green chili cheeseburgers. Yep ... you read that right. This sweet and spicy mashup is a grilled, all beef patty on a Belgian waffle, covered in green chili maple syrup with powdered sugar.
