More Death And Destruction Is Coming To Texas Highways
I think we all know how crazy it is on the Texas highways and it's about to get worse.
Do you know why there are treads on your tires? It's so you don't slip on the roads and so you can stop properly. Bald tires are also prone to blowouts which can result in injury or death to the driver and/or the people they might run into. The tires are just one part of the picture. What use are brakes? Have you ever had to honk your horn for safety reasons? I'm sure you're the best driver ever and can handle all these problems, but how do you feel about someone else coming at you with a car that has these problems?
It looks like state vehicle inspections will go the way of the dinosaur in 2025. It's all in the name of personal responsibility (which few actually care about). There is absolutely no denying that, for instance, some people will continue to drive with bad brakes. This WILL result in accidents and deaths on our highways.
So maybe you're a fan of no longer having to do inspections. I get it. Inspections are time-consuming and can also be a little frustrating. Here's another little fact you should consider, your car insurance rates will go up. Trust me, actuaries are trained to look at the likelihood of accidents in your area to price and issue policies.
Two other items of note, nobody seemed to care about all those inspection places that will now go out of business and leave people unemployed. Number two, the politicians are still going to charge you a $7.50 fee, you're just not going to get any benefit out of it.
This seems like a good thing, but it is not going to turn out well.
