Our neighbors in Louisiana have given us a lot of great food and a few great fast food chains including Popeyes. Another fast food chain that was started there has expanded rapidly over the last few years to include hundreds of locations in Texas but a recent study ranks them pretty far at the bottom as a lot of folks favorite.

YouGov recently released its regularly updated list of the most popular dining locations across the nation.

According to YouGov, a chain's popularity is determined by the percentage of consumers that has a positive association with the brand. While these rankings consider all restaurant chains, this particular ranking list is focused on fast food establishments.

The listed the top 50 Most Popular Food Chains In America and one near the bottom of the list has a bunch of Texas locations.

Smoothie King Ranked At 49 Out Of 50.

Smoothie King offers guests nutritional fresh-blended Smoothie and healthy retail products, including sports beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals and other sports nutrition products.

Smoothie King opened its first store in 1973 in Louisiana and started as the first franchised smoothie bar/health food store in the United States in 1989.

But why is one of the least favorites? We don't exactly know why but several other chains with lots of Texas locations made the bottom 10:

• Church's Chicken Ranked 40th
• Einstein Bros. Bagels Ranked 42nd
• Raising Cane's Ranked 45th
