The Youngest Mariachi Singer In The World Is From Texas

This past Sunday was International Mariachi Day and one young boy from Texas still holds the title as the youngest mariachi singer in the world.

Mateo López is nine years old, but he isn't new to singing. In fact, according to Guinness World Records, López has been performing mariachi music since he was four years and 236 days old. That makes him the youngest mariachi singer in the world according to a press release from Guinness World Records this weekend.

The young mariachi singer plays guitar, piano, and the harp.

Mateo recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and went viral on social media after the performance and that wasn't even the first time he has been on television.

And of course Mateo's parents are right there by his side encouraging him and supporting him as he is living his dream, even at a very young age. According to the Guinness World Records press release, Mateo says his favorite thing about singing is "interpreting songs and singing falsettos because he enjoys seeing the crowd's reaction".
