In the world of NHL hockey, the Stanley Cup is a the crown jewel. The ultimate symbol that your team was the best of the best that year. Since 1914, over a 100 teams have won & countless players have held the Cup up around the ice. But how many times has Texas been the victor of the Stanley Cup? There's been a few times that Texas won the big one.

Let's start with the obvious first choice of Texas Stanley Cup Winners

That year the Stars beat the Buffalo Sabres in Game 6 to win the 1999 Stanley Cup, marking the first time that Dallas won a Stanley Cup.

This would be the first time a Texas TEAM has won a cup but not a Texas PLAYER. In fact this wouldn't be the first time that someone from Texas has won a Stanley Cup.

Now let's see some Texas players won the Stanley Cup

Brian Leetch, from Corpus Cristi, played for a number of teams: the Boston Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs, but most people remember him for his team with the New York Rangers.

In 1994, Brian became the first Texan to ever win a Stanley Cup, playing for the New York Rangers in 1994, beating the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7. People would also most likely remember Brain for putting the Rangers up early in the game...

Brian wasn't the only Texas player to win the Cup.

The next, and so far last, Texan to win a Stanley Cup, is Plano's Blake Coleman. Currently playing for the Calgary Flames, in 2020 and 2021, he was part of the Tampa Bay Lightning, when they won back to back championships. At the time of this writing, he is the only Texas hockey player to win multiple NHL Stanley Cups.
