Officials carried out the execution of Lester Bower Jr. Wednesday night at 6:36pm, making the 67-year-old inmate the oldest executed since the death penalty was reinstated in 1982.
On Thursday, Texas prison officials carried out the execution of Kent Sprouse, convicted of the 2002 murder of Dallas police office outside of a convenience store.
The Texas court of Criminal Appeals has ruled to postpone another execution, this time for 55-year-old Randall Wayne Mays who was set to be put to death on Wednesday.
