Dennis Gibson of Katy, TX has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting his wife's 66-year-old lover, having caught them in the act at Gibson's home.

According to deputies and eye witnesses, an argument broke out between Gibson and his wife Jacqueline's lover outside the Gibsons' home.  A physical altercation broke out between the men and witnesses heard two gunshots, prompting calls to 911.  The wife's lover, identified as Vernon Burger, was shot in the side and in the back of the head, but didn't immediately die from the injuries.  Burger was airlifted to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.  Gibson also shot his wife twice, though her wounds were not life-threatening.

Gibson is being charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and is held without bail at the Fort Bend County Jail.
