Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Finds ‘Something Special’

The Dallas Cowboys come into the 2013 season looking for a change – a change that includes seeing the team get just their second playoff win since 1996. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo will play a large factor into whether or not the Cowboys can make that change. Over the summer, the 33-year-old Romo found a special change himself.

During this off-season, Tony Romo found “something special” in his throwing motion. “I don’t want to get into all the details of it,” Romo recently told FOXSportsSouthwest.  ”But I really think it can be a positive change.”

The change that Romo speaks of is apparently a slight difference in arm angles and points of release. “I really am excited about it,” Romo said. “It’s going to be a great thing.”

Any pro or arm-chair quarterback knows that there is a difference in tweaking an athletes mechanics on the practice field and actually changing the athletes muscle memory. With Romo’s sometimes erratic style of play, I am one to believe that the Dallas QB will revert to his old ways. Cowboy fans – and Tony Romo – should remember that his old style of throwing set career and franchise records in passing yards (4,903) last year.

To believe that Tony Romo has tweaked his throwing motion, and that the Dallas Cowboys will be a much better team because of it, will take the amount of faith that only true blue Dallas fans have. The Cowboys open the season Sunday, September 8 at home versus the New York Giants. Kickoff is slated for 7:30PM on NBC.

As for other NFL fans, they know that the last time a 30-something guy found “something special”, Navin R. Johnson wrote to his mother to tell her all about it.
