Denny Hamlin outran Kevin Harvick to win the NASCAR All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. on Saturday night. Hamlin won $1 million as a result of his victory in the 110-lap race.

Despite being the fastest car in qualifying, Hamlin didn’t win any of the first four segments of NASCAR's Sprint All-Star Race. However, Hamlin’s qualifying speed allowed him to choose favorable pit box location, setting up his car for the win when all vehicles had to make a mandatory pit stop prior to the race’s final 10 laps.

Harvick finished second in the exhibition, with Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth rounding out the top 5.

NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series will resume Sunday, May 24 for the Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte.
