We keep hearing story after story about food prices getting set to rise.  Who are they trying to kid?  Have any of these so-called analysts, experts or journalists done any actual shopping lately?  Don't look now, but inflation started hitting the grocery store shelves about two years ago.  That's when I noticed some definite spikes.  All those of us who actually think for ourselves know the role that high oil, gas and diesel prices are playing in all of this.  And we also know the role supply and demand plays.  Let's add to that the role of the First Lady, Michelle "Sugar Cop" Obama.  She's all over the place, pointing her finger down at you and I, telling us how fat we all are and how we're gonna get healthy whether we want to or not.  "Healthy eating", the way the elites define it, is expensive.  Well, it's more expensive than eating less healthy.  You've all noticed it.  The 'less' of something in the food, the more you pay, right?  Ground beef with 15% fat is about $3.29 per pound.  Trim down to 7% fat, it goes to $3.99 or more per pound.  Get the much-coveted 'organic' beef with just 4% fat, better take your loan officer along for the shopping trip.  The cost of eating a crappy diet is high enough.  Now we've got Uncle Sam stepping on our necks and demanding we cut the sugar, the salt, the fat, and so on.  Yes, we could all stand to eat a bit healthier.  Physical fitness never killed anyone that I know of.  But we're about to have even more government in our lives.  So how do they offset the imbalance between healthy and not so healthy eating?  Inflation is here.  I predict the next big move will be federal taxes on fast food.  So long, dollar menu.  We'll get skinnier, but only because we won't have the money to eat quite as much.  Evil plan, it is.
