Is Johnny Manziel’s Suspension Fair? — Sports Survey of the Day
On Wednesday the NCAA announced that it had suspended Texas A&M quarterback and defending Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel for the first half of the Aggies' upcoming game against Rice. The question is, does the crime fit the punishment?
Reports came out earlier this summer about Manziel meeting with an autograph broker in Connecticut while at a training camp. That broker says he paid Manziel to sign autographs on merchandise.
After an investigation, the NCAA could find no proof that Manziel had actually accepted any money for signing the alleged autographs, but the league and Texas A&M agreed to the punishment anyway.
