THROWBACK THURSDAY: 99 Cent Thursday Night Margarita’s at Casa Ole
If you are from Victoria, we can all agree that Casa Ole might not be the best Mexican food. However, for some reason, sometimes you just want it. I mean, the queso is top-notch. To be honest, Casa Ole used to be a popular spot in Victoria Mall, especially on Thursday nights.
Casa Ole was packed every Thursday night.
Thursday night used to feature 99-cent margaritas, and the place was slammed every week. You would literally enjoy the chips, red and green sauce, and order queso while downing 99 cent margaritas. On Thursday night, the smoking section was the busiest section in the building. Thursday night used to be a legit party night in Victoria.
Casa Ole used to have a buffet, and on Sunday, it was next level.
In fact, Casa Ole used to also feature a buffet, which on Sunday was on another level. The Sunday buffet featured beef and chicken fajitas, those legendary chicken wheels, and queso, and it was only $12.95. You couldn't get those options on the buffet the rest of the week.
Who remembers when Casa Ole was represented by Houston Astros star, Jose Lima, may he rest in peace.

Today's Casa Ole is nothing like it used to be.
Casa Ole continues to operate in Victoria Mall. However, the vibe is not the same since the remodel. The tables are set up differently, the buffet is gone, and the "party vibe" is gone. However, my opening statement remains true. Sometimes you just want Casa Ole, and you don't know why.
