It was just over a week ago that the Arizona Department of Public Safety said that a Wichita Falls woman was killed during a traffic stop. We now know allegedly what went down that lead to the officer's decision to use deadly force.

At this time last week, very little information was known as to what went down on I-10 in Benson, Arizona. We knew that a Wichita Falls woman was pulled over and during the traffic stop a trooper made the decision to shoot the driver. That driver was identified as 39-year-old Berkleigh Jade Bond of Wichita Falls. Here is what happened that morning according to the new report.

New Report on Death of Wichita Falls Woman in Arizona

Looks like a trooper with the Arizona Highway Patrol pulled over Berkleigh Jade Bond for speeding. The report says she was going 95 mph in a 75 mph zone. When the trooper questioned Bond, they apparently gave a fake identity. The trooper also found out that she had fictitious license plates and some warrants out for her arrest. The trooper got Bond out of the vehicle and was attempting to take her into custody.

Bond apparently resisted arrest and tried to run back into the vehicle. The trooper tried to use a taser, but was unsuccessful. Bond got back in the driver's seat with the trooper hanging onto the door. She tried to drive away with them hanging on. That is when the trooper fired shots at Bond. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the trooper has 28 years of law enforcement experience.

The trooper sustained a few injuries during the attempted arrest and they're currently recovering at home. You can read the full report from the Arizona Department of Public Safety here.
