Texas Scratch Ticket Player Wins Massive $20 Million Jackpot

A New Braunfels resident just won an unbelievable amount of money from the Texas Lottery. Don’t get me wrong – I've written about some huge Powerball jackpots, but I’ve never seen a jackpot this big from a scratch ticket game. 

I’ve written many times about the fact that even though I regularly write stories about Texas Lottery winners, I rarely ever play the lottery. Not that I have anything against it or any other form of gambling, it’s just that it’s not my thing.

But I love sharing stories about people I assume aren’t wealthy who come into a life-changing sum of money. And judging by the traffic these stories drive to our websites, it appears a whole lot of people like to read about it as well. 

Here’s the thing – winning $1 million would dramatically improve the life of any old average everyday Joe. But scoring a $20 million jackpot could set your grandchildren up for life if managed properly. 

And that’s exactly what the anonymous winner has planned, according to a press release: 

I’m going to use the money to pay off our debts and invest in my grandchildren’s education. With this amount, the kids and grandkids should be set for life.

The winning ticket was purchased at H-E-B Food Store #694, located at 2965 I-35 North, in New Braunfels. That was the last $20 million jackpot to be claimed in the $20 Million Supreme game. However, as I write this, two $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.

Aside from awarding billions of dollars in prizes to players since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has also given billions of dollars to support education in the Lone Star State, as well as Texas veterans.
