Be Prepared Texas, Rattlesnakes Popping Up in People’s Homes This Week
You maybe enjoying the warmer weather, but so are the rattlesnakes. Several people in Texas last night found snakes in their homes and it's only the start.
As someone who moved to Texas for the heat, I am loving the weather right now. Unfortunately I then remember my greatest fear also pops up when the temperatures rise. As the great Indiana Jones once said, "Snakes, why did it have to be snakes." First let's head to Del Rio, Texas for this snake hiding under someone's bed.
Rattlesnake Hiding Under Bed in Del Rio, Texas
Imagine lying down for bed and hearing that rattle? I would never sleep comfortably in that house ever again. The Del Rio Police Department called animal services out to retrieve this rattlesnake. I was curious if they had any video of this snake retrieval and then I found ANOTHER rattlesnake scare in Texas.
Texas Kids Almost Step on Rattlesnake in Laredo
Emma Gerstley shared footage of her boys walking in the front door last night over in Laredo and narrowly avoiding a rattlesnake in the doorway. Emma was able to call animal control to deal with the snake and she says they came very quickly late at night to get the snake. She shared a photo of the snake as well below.
Let this be a friendly reminder that rattlesnakes are emerging from their winter dens looking for food and mates. Experts say you should keep six feet between you and a rattlesnake because they can lunge a great distance to strike. I know these are just the start of rattlesnake videos in Texas and I do not want to see ANY from my neighborhood.
