City Announces Potential Future Plans for Wichita Falls Waterfall
The Wichita Falls Waterfall has been shut off for quite some time at this point and it looks like we may not see it turn back on until 2028.
Back in October, the city announced that they were aware The Waterfall was not running and they informed the public it would not be running for quite some time. At the Wichita Falls City Council meeting on Tuesday night, a plan was put in place to restore The Falls. However, it's going to take some time and a lot of money. Fast forward to the one hour and five minute mark in the video below.
Wichita Falls City Council Meeting on Waterfall Plan
During the meeting we found out a few things. One, the price tag for this restoration project. They estimate it will cost Seven Million Dollars to restore The Falls. To be fair, 2.1 million dollars is a part of that in case they find unexpected structural repairs. So right around five million if everything goes to plan. Here is the plan that was brought up in the City Council Meeting.

During an inspection of The Falls, a lot of mud was removed. In that process, parts of the facade are decaying and also the pumps that have been running for decades are beginning to fail. We will wait and see if we put The Falls back in Wichita Falls. PLAY THE DAMN SONG!
