Hillshire Brands Co. operates out of Texas and ships the corndogs to stores, food service providers, school districts, and even military facilities. That means they could easily show up in lunchrooms, cafeterias, or freezers here in Texas.
The issue came to light after multiple customer complaints and at least five reported injuries. Officials didn’t share details, but warned even a small piece of wood could cause serious harm if swallowed.
If you’ve got Hillshire corn dogs or sausage sticks in your freezer, the advice is simple: don’t risk it. Toss them out or return them to the store where you bought them.

Look for these codes on the package

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says the products were packaged between March 17, 2025, and September 26, 2025, and include the codes “EST-582” or “P-894.”
For more details, including photos of the recalled labels, check the FSIS website. You can also call Hillshire customer care at 888-747-7611.
It’s one of the biggest food recalls we’ve seen in years. So before you fire up the air fryer for a quick snack, maybe give that box of corn dogs a second look.
