Beaver, Oklahoma’s Young Bookworm: 4-Year-Old’s Dream Comes True as She Meets Dolly Parton
For most people, meeting Dolly Parton would be a dream come true.
However, most of us will never get to meet Dolly in person. We'll enjoy her talent, wit, and caring from afar.
However, one young lady in Beaver, Oklahoma, will get the ultimate Dolly Parton experience.
Austyn Ordonez received the golden ticket per se in her Imagination Library book in September.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a program where a book is mailed free to children birth - age 5, no matter the income of the family.
Austyn opened up her new book and found the Dolly Parton bookmark. She is one of 7 children in 5 different countries who will get to meet Dolly Parton.
Austyn’s mother, Ash says her daughter squealed “Oh my gosh it’s Dolly in my book!”
This must have been what it felt like when Charlie found the Golden Ticket in his Wonka Bar.
Ash says she called her mom and said “I think we just got Willy Wonkad.”
Austyn checks out at least 10 library books weekly from her local library in Beaver, Oklahoma. She has also received books from the Imagination Library since she was 2-years-old.
Austyn will get the privilege of a private video chat with Dolly Parton. She will also receive a signed letter and photograph from the Legend herself, tickets to Dollywood, and $2000 will be donated to her local Imagination Library program, the Tri-County Electric Cooperative.
The family is planning their trip to Pigeon Forge, TN next year.
