Boondocks Bar and Grill Is Almost Open in Amarillo: Here’s What We Know
Driving the I-40 corridor between Coulter and Soncy in Amarillo, you will find a restaurant row. One of the buildings was just a ghost of the former Logan's Roadhouse. Then one day, a transition started, and the location at 8310 E Interstate 40 will soon open as a new local restaurant.
What Happened to the Old Logan's Roadhouse in Amarillo
Logan's Roadhouse closed in September 2023, and the building sat empty for a few years. Then, in June 2025, the building caught on fire, causing some damage, not long after the building had been purchased. In July 2025, we shared that the building would soon be a new steakhouse.

Signs That Boondocks Bar and Grill is Opening Soon
However, fast forward to 2026, and Boondocks Bar and Grill is close to finally opening its doors.
- They have a Google listing
- They are listed on OpenTable, but since they aren't open yet, their section isn't operational.
- They have a Yelp page that shows the restaurant but it is shown as closed.
- They have a website, but now, it is password-protected.
- Oh, and they are hiring.
Boondocks Bar and Grill Is Hiring and Almost Open
According to a Facebook post from what appears to be one of the managers of the restaurant, Boondocks Bar and Grill is hiring. When places start hiring, that means they are likely a few weeks away from a grand opening. The post encourages people interested in working to stop by the restaurant at 8310 E Interstate 40, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm
As of now, we don't have a solid opening date, just hints that it is soon. We did reach out to one of the owners for more information, but at the time of publication, we had not received a response.
Boondocks Bar and Grill will be a great addition to Amarillo and to the area.
What's Still Missing From Amarillo's I-40 Restaurant Row
Now that all those restaurants in that area are operational again, we need to see the old Regal building remodeled and reopened with something amazing. Last we heard, Cinergy had purchased the building with plans to open a second location.
