Obamacare. It’s become a dirty word in the English language.

Millions of Americans are feeling the sting of the Affordable Care Act.  I’ve spoken with several individuals, some right here in North Texas, whose insurance has gone bye-bye due to Obamacare. One local business woman told me that she attempted, repeatedly, to sign up for Obamacare after her family lost their company policy. No luck. After spending several hours over several days attempting to sign up, she gave up.The frustration in her voice was painful.

According to a Heritage Foundation article, many of you will lose coverage under so-called ‘grandfathered policies because language in the law requires all plans, even the grandfathered plans, to adhere to new mandates that they cannot live up to. So much for that promise of ‘if you like your insurance, you can keep it’.

Individuals who find themselves without an employer sponsored plan had better have really deep pockets if they plan to buy their own policies on the individual market. Most of the more affordable plans won’t comply with Obamacare mandates and most individuals won’t qualify for a government subsidy to offset costs. Up to 16 million individuals will be cancelled because policies don’t comply with the Obamacare mandates.

Give us your two cents worth on Obamacare: Have you or someone you know been canceled?  What, if anything, have you been able to do about it?
